After 1000h of ON time it will automatically run the full 1h cycle Pixel Refresh.Īll this is automatic, on top of the manual trigger of the Pixel Refresh that you can do from the settings menu. If you just use your TV for 2h, then turn it off, it won't run until you turn it back on and accumulate another 2h of ON time. So if you watch >4h in one sitting, it will run immediately after you turn your TV off. It actually only works when the TV is off, that's why, when you manually want to run Pixel Refresh it will tell you to turn off the TV for it to work.Īs I said above, it runs a 4-5m short cycle every time the TV accumulates 4h of ON time. It shows nothing on the display, it runs in the background. Pixel Refresher on OLED just does some calculations on usage of each individual subpixel and adjusts the voltage to compensate for use and wear. On plasma it was basically a bright white vertical bar that scrolled along the length of the TV. No, Pixel Refresh on OLED is something completely different than on Plasma. Whatever you get between exchange or store credit you can get GSP on again so you won't be SOL like you would be otherwise with the repair being done. Difference is this time they're going to give you a choice of either store credit to get whatever (it's supposed to be used towards a new TV but they can't really limit it) or you can purchase an equivalent model for an exchange which, while that's really cool, is also unfortunate because we don't carry the B9 just yet. This is where it's different, if they deem it NOT cost effective to replace it, you'll be contacted by Geek Squad and informed that your protection plan will now be labeled as null and void for the B7. If they deem it cost effective to fix (which is unlikely because it's OLED) then they'll replace the panel and life will be good, but the protection plan will be utilized and from here on out be null and void.Ģ.) You'll send the TV out for repair and be without the unit for about a few weeks. One of two things are going to happen:ġ.) You'll send the TV out for repair and be without the unit for about a few weeks. Luckily burn in is covered under TV Geek Squad Protection. Sorry if this was mentioned, I didn't read the whole thread. That said it still sucks but I've read in a couple of places now including the r/OLED group that LG is replacing burned-in panels so its worth a try u/Some_Call_Me_Danno Hope that you can get it resolved. Burnin is cumulative so the longer they watched it, it all adds up and every blip above 50 brightness makes it worse. That CNN HUD is the worst offender and its red and white, OP said the part burned in was Red. Their interface allows you to switch weeks and colours. So Rtings found burnin of the CNN "hud" in Magenta after 4 weeks of 20 hours per day, which is all told 560 hrs so if OP watched the channel "maybe 6 hours a week" and one has to assume everyone underestimates these things unless you're actually keeping track (no offence meant), make it 8-10 hours a week for a year thats 400-520 hrs, its not that far of a stretch. Logo of a station watched maybe 6 hours a week. /r/AverageJoeAudiophile for Two Channel Audio - DAC's Turntables, etc. When requesting help for issues POST DETAILS, MODELS, & PICS.Many questions have already been answered, USE SEARCH & See FAQ's.Messaging Mods via their private inbox not via mod mail will result in a ban and your messages ignored.
